The Influence of Temperature Variations on Rigid Pavement Concrete Slabs

This research aims to assess the effect of temperature gradient developed within concrete slab rigid pavement, and investigate its impact when incorporated with traffic load, heat transfer pattern. The pavement model considers an isotropic, uniform, linear-elastic schemes simulate material properties. A numerical analysis approach was employed using Abaqus software 3D Solid model. loads were obtained from field surveys, while slabs measured directly on site. dimension panel is 2.75 m in width, 5 long, thickness 25 cm, specification 41.33 MPa. results showed that produced a significant stress development pavement. It observed during daytime generated higher than at night, value reaching MOR (Modulus Rupture). exposure 500C tends produce principle 2.395 MPa, 1.31 MPa due load. When two factors combined, acquired maximum 3.322 which close 83.34% fa. These capable withstanding load as indicated by ratio less one (1).
